Notes: We live in Washington State and the Syrah grapes were transported from Lodi to Seattle in a refrigerated truck. The grapes were sorted and crushed. Fermentation took 15 days using three different yeast strains. The wine was pressed into a once-used 100L French oak barrel made by Seguin Moreau. The wine was barrel aged for one year and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Dark ruby color with scents of dark fruit, cedar, smoke meat and earth. Medium weight mouthfeel with flavors of blueberries and blackberries with some spiciness. Medium finish leading to a smooth elegant finish. Four cases made. |
